Mount Tallac is a 9739 foot mountain peak southwest of Lake Tahoe on the edge of the Desolation Wilderness. A “cross of snow” is clearly visible on the mountain’s face during the winter and spring months. The peak is a popular climbing destination in the summer and a back country ski destination in the winter.
