South Sister is part of the Three Sisters volcanic peaks located in the Cascade Range in Oregon. Originally named “Faith, Hope and Charity”, the peaks are now known as North Sister, Middle Sister and South Sister. South Sister and its features can be described by the three superlatives tallest, youngest, and highest. It is the tallest of the three sisters, but the youngest in terms of geological age. Located near the summit is a small crater lake named Teardrop Pool, which is the highest lake in Oregon.
