From the trailhead of Cascade Mountain, hikers can spot the summit - a rarity among the rest of the High Peaks in the Adirondack Mountain Range. Cascade is the 36th highest peak. It stands at 4,098 feet and maintains a 4.8 mile, moderate level hike through forests of birch, beech, and striped maple. The hike offers the shortest distance to the summit of any of the High Peaks, and is considered by many to be a great starter climb for the others.
