Bryce Point provides a soaring view of the park's most popular area. The view and the park share the same namesake, Ebenezer Bryce, who settled in the Paria Valley in 1870. Bryce was a shipbuilder who journeyed west with Brigham Young and the Mormon pioneers to assist in the construction of buildings essential to community life throughout the new land,
Bryce lived here for only five years, but in that time, the canyon that a timber road he built travelled into became known as "Bryce's canyon" to the people who knew him.

The overlook itself is reached via a short paved spur of about 0.2 miles from the parking area. From Bryce Point you can connect to two longer routes: the Rim Trail to Inspiration Point (3.5 miles, moderate) runs north along the canyon edge, while the Peek-a-Boo Loop (5.5 miles, strenuous) drops below the rim into the hoodoos.
