Killington Peak is the second highest peak of Vermont, and is located in the Green Mountains. It is a popular destination for a variety of outdoor activities—hiking, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and mountain biking. The merged Appalachian Trail and Long Trail skirt the summit on the undeveloped west side of the mountain. On a clear day, a side trail to the rock summit rewards hikers with a panoramic view of the Green, White and Adirondack mountains. The east side of the mountain is Northeast's most popular ski and winter sports destination.
